Do I need to be an ANZ customer to apply?

No, there are no restrictions relating to who you currently bank with. If you do have an existing sponsorship arrangement with a financial institution, please let it be known in your application. The club or venue does need to be affiliated with Tennis Australia and deliver ANZ Tennis Hot Shots to be eligible.  

Do I have to nominate an ANZ Tennis Hot Shots venue/club?

Yes. Only tennis venues/clubs that are affiliated with Tennis Australia and deliver ANZ Tennis Hot Shots are eligible to apply.

How does my club or venue become affiliated with Tennis Australia and start delivering ANZ Tennis Hot Shots?

To become affiliated please contact your state association who can help your club become affiliated.

Once affiliated to start delivering ANZ Tennis Hot Shots your club can either:

  1. Have a qualified Tennis Australia coach sign up and deliver the program
  2. If you don’t have access to a coach, Community Play enables you to also run the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program

Does the $10,000 Grant have to be used on something for the club?

Of course! But it can be used for anything for the club and its player’s needs. It could contribute towards new equipment, re-surfacing the club’s courts or even put towards a new club house. These are just some ideas to get you thinking.  

Promotion entries will need to answer the question ‘What would your club/venue do with $10,000?’

How will my entry be assessed?

All applications will be reviewed by the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots judges.

The judges will assess the merits of each application in their discretion based on fulfilment of eligibility criteria set out in the Terms and Conditions.  Any grants awarded will be at the discretion of the panel of appointed judges.

Can I enter this competition more than once?

There is a limit of one entry per person.

What happens if someone else from my team or club also applies?

Different people from the same team or club can  enter. However, if successful, a club will be awarded a grant once. Nominators who enter the competition must have the permission of the club to enter.

How important is it to include images or a video in my application?

The ANZ Tennis Hot Shots team would love to see your submission.. Submitting a video or images with your entry is optional but strongly encouraged.

Your video does not have to be high quality – You can even film and submit from your smartphone.

To submit a video you will need to upload it to YouTube or any other hosting website and paste the link in the application form. There is no time restriction on the video.

Will I be notified if my application is unsuccessful?

Only successful applicants will be notified via phone and email. The winners’ names will be published on tennisgrants.anz.com by 8th January 2018 for the first round of winners, and by 1st April 2018 for the remaining winners.

How old do you have to be to apply for a grant?

Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years.

When does the competition open and close? 

The promotion commences at 5am AEDT on Monday 16th October 2017 and closes at 11.59pm AEDT on Wednesday 28th February 2018. There will be twenty winners. The first round of winners will be announced by 8th January 2018, and the remaining winners will be announced by 1 April 2018. If you are not successful in the first round your entry will still be considered for the final round.  

What is the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program and how do I participate?

ANZ Tennis Hot Shots is Tennis Australia’s Junior Tennis Program. Since its launch in 2008, Hot Shots has become one of the most popular sports programs for primary school children in Australia, with more than 384,584 children experiencing the program in the past 12 months alone.

ANZ is committed to supporting tennis from grassroots to the elite level, and ANZ Tennis Hot Shots is a continuation of our investment into grassroots participation.
